I'm Back

Well, it's been an incredibly long time since I've blogged, had the baby, she's 4 months now...a very good baby indeed...the lack of sleep at 42 is kicking my behind, but I'm pretty used to it now.  My almost 4 year old has been a real pistol since her little sister was born, it's pretty stressful, she's so stronged willed now....any advice glady taken!  Pics of baby Simone to come! :)

The ease of parties when they are young compared to....

Ok, just finished my sweet little 3 year olds Dora pool party birthday...seemed like a breeze, you might be confused, party? breeze?  screaming preschoolers?????  No, I'm not crazy, just reflecting on how much HARDER it gets as the kids get older, first they get old enough to know it's all about presents and get choosy with pricey themes and "cool" locations and such.  Then they get even older and more aware of themselves and it becomes somewhat "awkward" to have a party, they want one but don't, afraid that someone at school might found out they still play with toys..GASP! what a tragedy!  Or the dilema...do I invite boys?  AHHH!  Yeah, 3 year old seemed like a breeze compared to the last couple of years with my now 15 year old, this year for the first time, she opted for no party, so I we had our family that lives in town come to make her day special.   Next summer "Sweet 16"...oh boy, what to do???????

Stay at Home moms are NOT morans!

Ok, why is it that if you are a stay at home mom people think you are a non educated woman who is always barefoot and pregnant???? Excuse me but some of us choose our families OVER careers knowing you can never get time back.   I also know woman who tell me they want to be but just can't...well, give up the big SUV and eating out 5 days a week and maybe you can.   It's about sacrifice for the good of the entire family.  I absolutely love that I can have dinner on the table when my hubby comes home, that I can keep up with the laundry (most the time) and spend time with my curious 3 year old without having to do it all on the weekends.  Sure I don't have as much "stuff", but is that what life is really about?  When all else goes away, all you are left with is family.

Tired? Confused? yet oddly at peace??

Well, having a baby at 39 was interesting, planned but interesting, it had been 12 years since our first daughter was born, so it was all new again, and exciting.  I had waiting along time...but now I just found out I'm pregnant again!  This was was not planned and we are in shock and I'm about to turn 42.   Oddly I feel in better shape, of course I'm only 5 weeks and the real test is to come, but I've been working out for a few months and hope to maintain it the best I can throughout this pregnancy, I just can't afford to gain the 50 lbs I did with the last one WAY to hard to get off at this age!   I hope this blog inspires us older moms to be proud of our motherhood!
